We try our best to respond to emails in less than 24 hours.
Is the cottage pet friendly?
YES! The Bluewater Cottage is pet friendly. There will be an additional security deposit when staying at the cottage that will be refunded as long as no damage has been done. We ask that everyone picks up after their pet so we can continue to offer this experience for everyone.
How many people can the cottage accommodate?
The cottage is a three bedroom, one bathroom cottage. We have a strict guest count of 7. At no time can the cottage accommodate more guests. Please email us if you have questions or concerns.
What are the check in and check out times?
The check in time is 4pm and the check out time is 10am.
How fast does the cottage book up?
The Bluewater Cottage sells out every year. We often have a waitlist and exclusive dates go out to subscribers (sign up for early release dates). We receive hundreds of messages and emails monthly to book the cottage. In order to avoid disappointment, we ask you book as earlier as possible. You can always send us an email thebluewatercottage@gmail.com for available dates or questions you may have.
Do you require a minimum stay?
Generally in July and August, we require one week stay (Friday to Friday) but sometimes we have weekends and 4 day stays available. For May, June, September and October we can be more flexible with 3-4 day stays. Reach out to us, thebluewatercottage@gmail.com and we will try to accommodate your stay as best as possible!
Is there a deposit required to reserve the cottage?
Yes, we require 50% deposit to hold your booking for you. For availability and pricing, please reach out thebluewatercottage@gmail.com
Do you provide linens and towels?
Yes, we do provide all linens and one towel per guest.
Does the cottage have WIFI?
Yes, the cottage has wifi. It is strong enough to stream a movie or video chat. We are a more rural location so sometimes the wifi isn't as strong but we have worked from there many days and have not had issues.
What do you recommend guests check out in the area?

How do guests check in?
We provide a unique code for all our quests to get access to the cottage.
Do you provide any water activities?
We have two kayaks on the property that you can use at your own risk. We have some lifejackets available but we strongly recommend all guests bring their own life jackets that are the proper size and fit. Bring floaties to attach to our dock is always a fun idea!
Is there a fire pit?
We have 2 fire pits on our property. One is at the top by the cottage and one is right on the shore at the Bay.
Where do we put the garbage at the end of our stay?
PLEASE LISTEN! We have a limit to ONE GARBAGE BAG per stay. We know this does not seem like much but this is how our township works. If you leave ONE BAG of garbage, it must be put in the bear bin at the top of the driveway. This is for the safety of everyone. We are a remote location that frequently has bears, so please do not leave any garbage outside. Any additional garbage bags left will be charged to the guest.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation on or before 2 weeks before check in date will result in a refund of 50% of your initial deposit. If cancellation by the guest is completed after 2 weeks before the check in date, the full deposit will be forfeited by the guest.
Does the cottage require a security deposit?
Yes, we will require a security deposit for your stay. The standard deposit we hold is $1000 (or $1500 if you plan to bring a pet). The deposit is to be paid alongside the second installment (7 days prior to checkin). Assuming no damages, the full value of the deposit will be refunded within 72 hours of checkout to a registered Canadian bank account.
